Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) flaunted its nearly complete international cruise terminal as it hosted at a resort in Panaji on Friday a precursor roadshow event to the Global Maritime Summit scheduled to be held in October at Delhi.
India’s maritime sector is embarking on a journey of progress through tech advancements, and infrastructure enhancement for a supportive business environment.
Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal, skipped the roadshow but in a video message screened at the roadshow, he said, “India is emerging as the driving force in crafting the next chapter of South Asia’s maritime history.”
North Goa MP, Shripad Naik, who is a minister of state for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways besides tourism addressed the audience packed with maritime professionals and industry captains where he underscored the ministry’s endeavors targeted at strengthening the foundational aspects of the maritime industry.
“In the wake of collaborative efforts, the Indian maritime landscape has undergone a transformative evolution,” Naik said.
