A resident from Bhagatwada-Canacona has taken to social media to draw WRD Minister Vinod Palyekar’s attention to the plight of locals supplied with muddy water through taps.

In his message to Palyekar, Samrat Bhagat of Bhagatwada stated: “Sir, I would like to draw kind attention of authorities concerned through social media to the bad quality of water supplied at Bhagatwada (Municipal Ward 8) in Canacona taluka.” “Most of the time, the water is muddy and polluted. There are complaints of jaundice and diarrhoea after drinking this water.”
Complaining that no corrective measure were taken by local officials, Bhagat urged the minister not to ignore the issue as a mere complaint. “This is a very small issue, but remember that a small hole can sink the ship. It’s not the first time that the water we have received has been so dirty. It has happened many times. As proof, I have uploaded a video clip of water supply at my residence water tap.”
Bhagat, who has uploaded his open letter and video clip on social websites and WhatsApp to several people, also invited the media and other agencies to visit various localities affected by muddy water.
