The meeting had to be called off as the PO reported sick to the office of Director of Municipal Administration. Questions are being raised in the corridors of CMC why the DMA’s office did not designate a link officer to take the role of the PO as a replacement.
When the signatories to the motion led by CMC vice-chairperson Mario Moraes arrived for the meeting, they found that there was neither the PO Pramod Desai nor CO Shankar Gaonkar in the hall. It was only after Moraes inquired with the CO, who was holed up in his office that realisation dawned that the meeting called to discuss the no confidence motion stands postponed for want of the PO.
Moraes later told the media that he suspects something fishy in the entire episode.
