MARGAO
The South Goa Sessions Court on Tuesday granted bail to accused Deepak Katimani, who had been arrested by the Fatorda police in the Mungul gang war case.
Katimani, who was earlier remanded to judicial custody, was released on furnishing a bail bond of Rs 25,000 with two sureties of the same amount.
Defence lawyer Adv Spencer Viegas told the media that the Court had set certain conditions for the bail. The accused has been ordered to surrender his passport in Court and report to the Fatorda police station twice a month until the chargesheet is filed.
Katimani was among those arrested in connection with the August 12 gang war on the Margao–Colva road at Mungul, in which two people were seriously injured.
