With land mutation cases pending across Goa and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant calling for strict action against corruption in their disposal, the North Goa Collector’s Office will hold one-day grievance camps in all talukas on Saturday, October 24, directing revenue officials to clear as many cases as possible.
The camps will be held from 10 am to 5 pm at the respective offices of Mamlatdars and Joint Mamlatdars. North Goa Collector Surendra Naik has directed the officers to remain present with their staff and take necessary steps to expedite the disposal of pending cases in accordance with the applicable rules and procedures.
The directions were issued during a meeting held on October 19 to review the pending mutation cases and accelerate their disposal.
Additional Collectors I, II and III have been appointed to supervise and monitor the camps in their respective jurisdictions. Additional Collector I will oversee the camps in Pernem and Bardez, Additional Collector II in Tiswadi, and Additional Collector III in Sattari and Bicholim.
The Additional Collectors have been directed to ensure coordination and the smooth conduct of the camps while monitoring the progress of cases taken up for disposal.
Following the camps, all Mamlatdars will have to submit detailed compliance reports to the Collector, specifying the number of cases taken up, the number disposed of and the cases, if any, that remain pending. The reports will subsequently be forwarded to the government for appraisal.
