Union AYUSH Minister and North Goa MP Shripad Naik has said around 1,000 MPLAD projects have been completed during his present term as Member of Parliament.
Naik was speaking at a ceremony to unveil the foundation stone for the project to develop and beautify the pathway and fixing of interlock pavers at Vishwasnagar, Lamgao in Bicholim taluka.
Others present included Bicholim MLA Rajesh Patnekar, Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) Chairperson Rajaram Gaonkar, BMC Vice Chairperson Dattaguri Pal, BMC Chief Officer Vivek Naik and Councillor Sudan Govekar.
“For me, it is a mission to take up politics as a source for social development. I have cautiously utilised funds allotted to me for public development in North Goa,” the union minister added.
Bicholim MLA Rajesh Patnekar and BMC Chairperson Rajaram Gaonkar also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, the union minister also laid the foundation stone to install streetlights at Lamgao and develop an open space at Housing Board Colony in Bicholim.
