National integration camp at Sakhali

BICHOLIM: Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar said that earlier, mining business was the major source of income for the State government, but after mining activities were halted, the government earned major revenue through the tourism sector.

He was speaking after inaugurating the five-day national integrity camp organised by Nehru Yuwa Kendra (NYK) in association with Ravindra Bhavan at Ravindra Bhavan Sakhali. Sakhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant, NYK State convenor Kalidas Ghatwal, camp chief Rani Dwivedi and others were present.

He said the national integrity camps are a major boon in communicating the cultural aspects of every state, resulting into exchange of better plans for tourists and other folks. About 15 states are participating in the programme.
