In an interesting development, the Nationalist Congress Party has established contacts with a host of political leaders, including its former MLA Mickky Pacheco, even as the party is planning to field a couple of candidates in the Goa Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, the party inducted Congress rebel from Navelim Rehan Mujawar in the party at the hands of party national general secretary Praful Patel in the presence of state leaders Jose Philip D’Souza, Pafulla Hede and a minister from Maharashtra.
Jose Philip told The Goan that the NCP will field Rehan in Navelim and added that the party is in the process of shortlisting a host of candidates for other seats as well.
Sources informed that the NCP leadership has established contact with Mickky by inviting him for a meeting at a starred hotel in North Goa.
A source said that NCP state president Jose Philip D’Souza is set to contest the coming polls from Dabolim where Congress has declared Capt Viriato Fernandes as the party candidate.
