Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo confirmed that the group of fishermen were brought to the Vasco police station.

Raposo said they were allowed to go after subsequent inquiries. He said that naval forces had requested them to interrogate the fishermen.

The naval headquarters also informed that on inquiry the fishermen could not give satisfactory reply. Raposo said the local fishermen said they had gone to the island to offer annual Litany prayer. We have not found any connection to terrorism,” he added.
