The Mumbai and Goa units of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) continued to tighten the noose on the drug networks in Goa.
With the help of the Crime Branch of Goa Police, the NCB raided three prominent nightlife spots along the Ozrant Beach in Vagator arresting five accused including a Swiss national.
Sameer Wankhede, IRS, Zonal Director of NCB, informed that based on specific information, the joint raid was conducted during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday in front of Larive Beach Resort in Anjuna, Shiva Place restaurant and Monkey bar and restaurant at Ozrant Beach in Vagator.
The anti-narcotics sleuths succeeded in recovering commercial quantities of LSD (35 blots), 33 grams of mephedrone, 5.1 grams of heroin along with smaller quantities of marijuana, MDMA tablets and hashish.
Five accused, including two Goans, two Kerala natives and a Swiss national have been apprehended in the case registered at NCB, Goa Sub Zone.
All five suspects are being examined and further investigations are underway.
The NCB had recently conducted multiple raids across Goa over a span of 12 hours arresting three drug peddlers. Commercial quantities of high-end synthetic drugs were among an array of narcotics seized from their possession.
One of the arrested accused had been previously linked with the supply of narcotics to the deceased Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
