MARGAO: Network issues came as a dampener at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao as the audience had to contend with interruptions during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with health care workers and vaccine beneficiaries on Saturday morning.

For quite some time, the audience was cut off from PM’s address because of network issues.

Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao Damu Naik, who offered his mobile hotspot to overcome the network issue, later told the media that Ravindra Bhavan was only the venue partner at Saturday’s event, adding that Ravindra Bhavan had also arranged uninterrupted power supply for the event.

‘Somehow, the telecast was disrupted for quite some time denying the participants to watch the PM’s interaction. We were fortunate enough to hear the PM’s address, but could not watch his interaction with one of the beneficiaries of the vaccination”, he said.

Damu added: “Ravindra Bhavan has provided the venue and uninterrupted power supply. All other things were managed by an event management company”.

To a question, Damu said it was unfortunate that mobile issues cropped up during the interaction, adding ‘this should not have happened when the Prime Minister was addressing the people of Goa. There should be responsibility and accountability as the network problem was felt for over 15 minutes. We had to intervene and provide the mobile hotspot to help overcome the network issue”.
