New Goa State Taxi Policy rollout on Sept 10, likely to replace May’s draft aggregator guidelines

PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the Goa State Taxi Policy will be presented on September 10. This will supersede the draft aggregator guidelines, which was notified in May, inviting suggestions and objections from stakeholders.

The announcement came after today's meeting with the taxi operators at the Mantralaya, who urged a ban on taxi aggregator apps and the scrapping of existing guidelines.

“This isn’t just about rate rationalisation. It’s about transparency, security, and fair pricing. Tourists should feel safe. We’ve considered all taxi stakeholder suggestions, and the state policy will be updated on Sept 10,” Sawant said.

"This (policy) will supersede the notification (draft aggregators guidelines."
