Deputy Chief Minister Manohar Azgaonkar on Friday launched a new KTC bus service between Ozrim Deulwada and Mapusa. Azgaonkar also laid the foundation stone for the beautification work near Shree Sateri Temple at Deulwada-Ozrim.
The new KTC bus service will ply between Ozrim via Devulwada, Dadachiwadi, Maidkai, Nagar, Dhargal, Colvale and Mapusa.
With the introduction of this KTC bus, the fleet of KTC buses in the State has increased to 545, of which 509 are plying in the state and 36 are on inter-state routes.
Speaking on the occasion, Azgaonkar said the KTC bus, which was pressed into service on Friday, was a long-pending demand of the locals.
“Apart from benefiting the student community, this bus will also help office-goers and general public to go to Mapusa for their work,” said the deputy chief minister.
Stating that the state government is fully committed for all round development of the state, Azgaonkar said the beautification project near Shree Sateri temple is estimated at Rs 16 lakh.
“The project has provision for a garden and beautification around the temple,” said Azgaonkar, while adding that work on projects like the cricket stadium and Ayush Hospital would be taken up soon.
Ozrim Sarpanch Sangeeta Gaonkar, Sateri Mandir President Sitaram Naik, Dy Sarpanch Sudam Param and Sangeeta Gaonkar also spoke on the occasion.
