NFDC to organise IFFI: reports

panaji
The Central government has rejigged the management of the International Film Festival of India with the charge to organise the festival now being given to the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) from the Directorate of Film Festivals, reports have indicated.
With barely two months left for the festival, the main organiser being changed could have an impact on the organising of the event. The festival has hitherto been organised by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting with the Directorate of Film Festivals handling the organising.
The Entertainment Society of Goa has been the local special purpose vehicle of the Goa Government to partner in organising the festival. The festival is due to kick off on November 20 this year and the NFDC will sign a memorandum with the I&B Ministry charting out its plan for the nine-day festival.
The NDFC used to earlier organise the Film Bazaar held on the sidelines of IFFI.
