Nigerian held with drugs worth Rs 1.09 cr

CANACONA

Cracking a second narcotics case within 24 hours, Canacona Police nabbed a Nigerian national on charges of possessing cocaine valued at Rs 1.09 crore at Kindlebag-Tarir, Canacona, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Canacona police, a raid was conducted upon specific and reliable information between 12.15 pm and 2.30 pm, and a Nigerian national, Onyeacholem Friday, was caught red-handed for allegedly possessing 219.9 grams of cocaine worth Rs 1,09,95,000 when he came on a scooter to deliver it to prospective customers. The accused was placed under arrest, while the narcotic substance and the scooter were also seized.

This is the third drugs-related case within the last 15 days and PSI Vishal Velip is conducting investigations under the supervision of PI Pravin Gawas and guidance of Canacona SDPO Nilesh Rane and SP South Goa Tikam Singh Verma.
