Shri Nirakar Vidyalaya, Mashem celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2025 with great enthusiasm at Parshuram Devalaya Hall, Painginim.
Sharendra Naik, former Physical Education Teacher at SS Angle Higher Secondary School was the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour was Harish Prabhu Gaonkar, Chairman of Parshuram Devalaya Committee.
The yoga session included various asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques. Participants performed Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Trikonasana, and Shavasana with enthusiasm. The importance of each asana was explained to all, highlighting its health benefits.
A total of 243 students, 15 teachers, non-teaching staff, 6 B.Ed. trainee teachers, and 35 parents enthusiastically participated and witnessed the event. The response from parents and community members was very encouraging.
Earlier, in her welcome speech Headmistress Urvee Phaldesai introduced the guests. The event was compered by Ujwala Lolayekar.
The formal session was followed by a group yoga demonstration led by trained instructors as per the Common Yoga Protocol.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Maithili Gunagi. The celebration reflected the spirit of unity, health, and wellness promoted through yoga, stated a press note issued by Shri Nirakar Education Society Chairman Prashant Naik.
