The number of active Covid cases rose to 669 in Mormugao taluka on Tuesday.
These cases have been recorded by the Vasco Urban Health Centre (239), Cortalim Primary Health Centre (275) and Cansaulim Primary Health Centre (155).
Cortalim Primary Health Centre Health Officer Dr Socorro Quadros said the health centre has been getting more cases from Sancoale and Chicalim areas, with around around 90 active cases in Chicalim.
“The PHC jurisdiction includes the villages of Chicalim, Dabolim, Bogmalo, Sancoale, Quelossim and Cortalim. We have been appealing to people to take precautionary measures like wearing masks, social distancing and sanitisation to fight Covid.”
“We also appeal to all people above 45 years to get vaccinated without fear and there has been no major reaction till date. This is the best opportunity we have to fight the Covid 19 by getting vaccinated,” said Dr Quadros.
