No Motor Zone (NOMOZO) will be observed on Dec 10 on a service road in Porvorim. This was informed in a press conference called by the team of ‘Porvorim Rising NOMOZO'.
Suraj Borkar, convenor, Porvorim Rising NOMOZO, said, "On Sunday (Dec 10), we have a no motor zone on the service road in Porvorim from Goa Board to Police Station from 8 am to 2 pm. This is the idea of our MLA, Rohan Khaunte."
The objective behind NOMOZO is to spread awareness about car free streets and to give a chance to people of all age groups to come with their cycles and skates and become part of a number of activities, which are planned under this event.
As automobiles will not be allowed on that stretch of the service road on Sunday, it will be a great opportunity for kids, differently abled persons and senior citizens to walk around and enjoy their time.
A number of environmentalists, educationists and artists are going to participate in NOMOZO event.
Besides, more than 46 stalls of food and artefacts will be another attraction of NOMOZO. All the stalls will be run and managed by housewives/home entrepreneurs to motivate people to become part of events like these. And, there will be separate zones for kids and senior citizens and also music and dance performances.
Borkar said, "While NOMOZO is going on, police and our volunteers will manage the traffic."
