Ports Minister Michael Lobo said that he did not have any personal animosity against any of the leaders and there was no need to fear anyone, but as an elected representative he took up public issues with the government.
Lobo also said that he broached the subject of his wife’s intention to contest the forthcoming election with the State election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis but he neither got a positive nor negative response.
“When an MLA is elected he should work for the people. Whenever I raised issues it was for the people of Goa. There is no need to fear or think too much. You must express people’s views to the government of the day,” Lobo said.
“We speak for the people of Goa. As an elected representative I must raise people’s issues not only from my constituency but the entire Goa,” he added.
Incidentally, Lobo cannot see eye to eye with the BJP Organising Secretary Satish Dhond.
He said the discussion with the State election in-charge was on the 2022 election and they spoke on Calangute constituency and the entire state of Goa.
“I told him that my wife is interested to contest the election from Siolim constituency. He said whatever has to be done will be done at the right time. We have expressed our wish and everyone who desires to contest should do it,” he added.
