“All 25,000-odd names in the electoral roll of the Siolim constituency are my voters. I am not here to take revenge on anyone. My doors will always be open for everyone,” Palyekar said in response to a query raised by a local that there was a sense of uncertainty among a section of the people.
Palyekar was speaking after his felicitation by the Assagao Panchayat on Sunday.
He said people were welcome to knock at his door for any help or with any grievance.
“I will work to utilize my time only to do good work. There is no time for dirty politics on my watch,” he said.
The minister said he will never again campaign for votes if the problems of the locals were not resolved.
“If your problems do not get resolved, I will not come to your doorstep to appeal for votes in future,” Palyekar said.
In an attempt to learn the difficulties of the people, he said he would hold “Sunday dialogue” once a week to listen to problems of the locals.
He further assured the gathering that his main focus was to provide basic needs of good roads and adequate water and power supply to his constituents.
“Next week I will survey land for the proposal of
a power sub-station at Badem,” he disclosed. “We will build water tanks wherever required. He also informed that, hot-mixing of road will be taken up from Anjuna Church to Starco bar and restaurant close to the beach.
