Ports Minister Michael Lobo said that it was too early for him to be the CM but he has the desire to campaign all over Goa, particularly in Bardez and Pernem in the forthcoming assembly elections.
Lobo also said that his sarpanch wife has made up her mind to contest from Siolim but she was yet to decide on which political party to contest from.
“No. I am not positioning myself as a chief ministerial candidate. It is too early. We have seniors amongst us. We will help them,” Lobo said.
He said he has not made any demand (with the party) but he had interest to work in different parts of Goa particularly in Bardez and Pernem.
“I have come to know that they want to give me some responsibility but I have not got any communication so far. We will work to elect good people. I will work in all the seven constituencies in Bardez so that our party candidates win. Besides that I will go wherever the party sends me,” he said.
The Ports Minister informed that his better half Delilah Lobo has decided to contest from Siolim constituency but she has not decided on which party to contest from.
“Delilah has to decide on which political party she wants to contest from. She will decide at the right time. She has already decided to contest. She is moving around, meeting leaders and meeting people who have problems in the constituency and even resolving the problems,” he said.
Lobo has on more than one occasion claimed that his wife will contest the upcoming elections from Siolim.
In fact, the couple has been moving around sponsoring events and meeting key people in the constituency.
‘I have done justice to my post’
MAPUSA: Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo said that he has done justice to his portfolio by working to make Goa garbage free.
He said work on the upgrading of the Saligao solid waste management plant was going on while 70 percent work on the South Goa waste treatment plant has been completed.
“Whatever works I have promised from my department, I have delivered. Saligao plant will be upgraded and South Goa waste management plant will be inaugurated before the election code comes into effect,” Lobo said, when questioned whether he was happy with the performance of the government.
He also said that the first of its kind bio-medical waste treatment plant will be inaugurated in the State by next week.
