Nothing is going right in Canacona: Former min

Former minister Isidore Fernandes felicitates dignitaries from various fields at the Mataji Temple in Tembewada.

Claiming that nothing is going right especially on the education front in Canacona constituency, former minister Isidore Fernandes said he would raise his voice on the problems plaguing Canacona at the right time and at right forum.

“The government has given buses to private schools with public money, but this is a conspiracy to feed some people’s coffers with government money. There are many things going wrong in the education sector in Canacona taluka and we will raise our voice against it in the right forum and right time,” Fernandes said.

He was speaking at a ceremony to felicitate people which was organised by the Ravi Charitable Trust, Canacona at the auditorium of Mataji Mandir Hostel in Tembewada-Canacona.

CMC Chairperson Sara Shambha Naik Desai, Divisional Education Officer (DEO) Ganesh Gawde, Councillor Shubham Komarpant, social activist Damodar Chari were present on the occasion.

Those who were felicitated included special teacher Rakhi Naik, crematorium worker Sandesh Paiginkar, and ayurvedic dentist Dr Mangala Velip.

CMC Chairperson Sara Naik Desai stated that even though people now have proper food, clothing and shelter, many social problems continue to arise among people and because of that everyone should do their bit of social work.

Councillor Shubham Komarpant and DEO Ganesh Gawde also spoke on the occasion. Earlier Sunay Komarpant welcomed the gathering, Damodar Chari introduced the guests and Suraj Komarpant compered the function.
