Bicholim Police arrested notorious history-sheeter Ansar Narangi alias Lagati, resident of Margao, involved in snatching of a mangalsutra valued at Rs. 1,95,000 from a local resident, Mrs. Kamal K Shirgaonkar. The incident occurred on August 14, 2023, at 14:50 hrs, outside Shirgaonkar's residence at Mulgao- Bicholim.
Narangi, along with the other unknown suspect rode up to the Shirgaonkar's house and forcibly snatched her mangalsutra while she was in her garden. Both have been charged under Sections 379 and 356 of the Indian Penal Code.

Narangi, has a history of criminal activities and has previously been arrested in various cases reported at Maina Curtorim Police Station, Fatorda Police Station, Margao Town Police Station, and Mapusa Police Station. The accused is also wanted in connection with crimes within the jurisdictions of Curchorem and Canacona Police Stations.
