Now, another group protests at Honda police outpost

VALPOI
A day after an irate mob staged a protest at the Honda police outpost and demanded the suspension of Valpoi PI Sagar Ekoskar after accusing him of having assaulted two locals in the police outpost, another group of locals marched to Honda police outpost on Thursday and demanded the arrest of former Honda sarpanch and sitting panch Suresh Madkar.

They alleged that Madkar had assaulted Dattaram Gawde at Solye on Wednesday morning.

Bicholim DySP Gurudas Gawde held talks with the protesters in a bid to resolve the issue, but they remained adamant on their demands.

The protesters later marched to the residence of Suresh Madkar but he was not present at home.

At around 3 pm, Sattari Mamlatdar Dasharath Gawas visited the Honda police outpost and interacted with the protesters and said necessary action would be taken in the matter within two days. Satisfied with the assurances, the protesters left the police outpost.

Meanwhile, the Pissurlem Shetkari Sanghatana (PSS) joined in the protests at Honda and demanded the suspension of Valpoi Police Inspector Sagar Ekoskar, after accusing him of assaulting two locals in the police outpost.

Addressing a news conference at Valpoi, PSS President Hanumant Parab accused PI Ekoskar of being arrogant and failing to keep a check on illegal activities.
