Like a true party soldier, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday tried to emulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attempt at coining abbreviations to explain good governance concepts by coming up with two of his own.
While Modi reduced Goa to an acronym, attributing 'G' to governance, 'O' for the opportunity and 'A' for aspiration, Sawant came up with a new set of explanations for BJP and literally spelt out a new ABCD of his good governance.
According to Sawant B.J.P. stands for 'Betterment Joy Prosperity', which he claimed, the party had ushered in Goa.
Sawant also took a veiled punch at critics, who had questioned his credentials to assume the chief minister's chair in 2019.
"People had said I do not know the ABCD of government when I went from the Speaker's chair to chief ministership," Sawant said.
According to the Sawant version of A.B.C.D., 'A' stands for Administration, 'B' represents a boost which his government had given different sectors. 'C', Sawant said, represented care and concern for the people of Goa and 'D' stood for a double engine government.
