After the Manohar International Airport in Mopa, the Dabolim airport has also begun displaying the flight information in Konkani.
Sources said the Dabolim Airport began displaying information in Konkani following a request from Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai.
The sources added that Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai had earlier requested with both Mopa and Dabolim airport officials to start displaying information in Konkani.
The Goa Airport in its tweet thanked Sardesai for his suggestion.
“Thank you for suggestions sir. All Mandatory Sign Boards displayed are Trilingual (Konkani, Hindi and English) at Goa Int’l Airport, Dabolim. Now, Flight Information is also being displayed in Trilingual including Konkani through FIDS at GOI,” said the Goa Airport through its Twitter handle.
Vijai Sardesai had requested Mopa and Goa Airports to use Konkani Language for flight information in his tweet on February 27.
“Let’s be proud of who we are. Yesterday, at my request, the crew of @IndiGo6E Ahmedabad-Goa made their announcement in #Konkani. Not only should this be made mandatory on all #Goa flights but @aaigoaairport and @newgoaairport must display flight information in Konkani as well,” Sardesai had stated in his tweet, while attaching a video of flight attendant making announcement in Konkani.
