With revival of tourism activity in the State, GoaMiles taxis will now be coated with Goa's first anti-viral coating for passenger safety and with an aim to position Goa as a safe travel destination.
Goa's first Anti-Viral Coating station 'Vaahan Kavach' was launched by Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho in the presence of Airport Director Gagan Malik, GoaMiles MD and CEO Utkarsh Dabhade, GoaMiles Operations Director Parashar Pai Khot and other officials at the Dabolim airport.
A demonstration of the nanotechnology coating was also displayed at the airport.
Speaking to reporters, GoaMiles Operations Director Parashar Pai Khot said Anti-Viral Coating will be applied on all taxis operating under the GoaMiles App as part of the Vaahan Kavach programme.
“The Anti-Viral Coating station will utilise nanotechnology coating for vehicles that protects against germs, bacteria, viruses and will give a true sense of Atithi Devo Bhava to passengers,” said Pai Khot.
"Vahan Kavach 2020-21 is a GoaMiles Mission to provide the safest ride to every passenger. We have collaborated with a team of experts on surface cleaning and coating service with varied experience in the field of vehicle sanitisation with innovative and scientifically proven antimicrobial surface coating treatment to provide our driver-partner and passenger with a sterile experience.”
"Mission Kavach 2020-21 will provide auto obey SOP for sanitisation. Each vehicle with GoaMiles will be sanitised with a coating of antimicrobial nano-particle with a meter of 30 Days/90 days. Every vehicle will have a certificate to assert the coating validity and passenger safety.”
“'No Ride before Sanitise' will be the slogan we will abide by and every vehicle will be re-sanitized by end of 30th/90th day,” said Pai Khot.
Khot said there will be two sanitisation units, one each at North and South Goa and the capacity of two vehicles per hour at each station.
He added that end-to-end process of maintaining vehicle sanitisation audit trail is integrated with a technology base.
“Every passenger will be able to understand the cessation of 'Vahan Kavach' on the GoaMiles platform once allocation of vehicles is done along with a physician certification in the vehicle.”
“The schedule of Kavach expiry will be prior known to units at both locations as per vehicle RTO registration. The sanitisation station will have a back-end panel to understand the planner for the coming days work. There will be a backed call centre to follow up and comply," said Khot.
He informed that the vehicle's sanitization life-cycle will be automatically monitored by the GoaMiles centralised platform.
“Drivers will be notified in advance about certificate expiry automatically over the GoaMiles Driver's App. No rides will be allocated in case of an invalid certificate. Every booking request will be allocated to a vehicle that has a valid Vahan Kavach.”
“Time to time random audit swap test for viral load and the permissible limit for the safe environment would be conducted by GoaMiles Team. GoaMiles Kavach will be active 24x7 for 365 Days.”
“Other Standard Operating procedures would go along with MHA guidelines and Vahan Kavach," Khot added.
