Double-tracking of railway line is not for coal transportation, claims Cabral

PANAJI: Cabral, who is also the minister for Environment and Climate Change voiced his support for the controversial double-tracking of the railway line through the Mollem Wildlife Sanctuary.

“It is not for coal transport,” he claimed while assuring that Goa will not become a coal hub. Cabral sought to point out that his government was sensitive to the demands of the people and hence, it had rejected some projects under the Sagarmala projects in Goa. 

Cabral has promised that he will soon make public a detailed presentation on double tracking of the railway line and Sagarmala projects.
