Now, Ravi and Mamledar stake claim for same works

They may be vying for the same Ponda seat at the assembly polls, but former chief minister Ravi Naik and Ponda MLA Lavu Mamledar are also battling it out to stake claim for the same projects in Ponda.
In his appeal to voters of Ponda, Mamledar claimed to have executed works estimated at Rs 955 crore in the last five years, which include the four-lane Khandepar bridge.
Mamledar mentioned that beautification of Kranti Maidan was in progress at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
The four-lane Curti-Dhavali bypass road (Rs 300 crore), sewerage scheme for Ponda constituency (400 crore), traffic management plan for Ponda city (100 crore) and water treatment plant at Opa and Ganjem (150 crore) were also included as projects initiated by Mamledar.
Mamledar claimed that the Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir could be completed through his initiative. “The Sub-District hospital, construction of Dayanand Bandodkar football ground, shifting of RTO to KTC bus stand, beautification of religious places and completion of Sahakar Bhavan at Curti were also mentioned as his initiatives.
However, Ravi Naik claimed that he had been instrumental in the Sub District Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir projects.
Naik also said that he had played a vital role to get the Indian army to hand over possession of Kranti Maidan to the Ponda Municipal Council.
Even the Sahakar Bhavan project, which has been mentioned by Mamledar, is also included by Ravi Naik in his manifesto.
