Team visits site, collects samples; Police claim accused has revealed names, will call them for inquiry

A bomb disposal squad from the National Security Guard (NSG) arrived from Delhi to investigate the gelatine explosion in Ansolem-Sattari on Wednesday.
A 12-member NSG squad went to the site and collected samples of the soil and other material, fuelling speculations among locals on whether the explosion was a result of gelatine sticks or some other bomb.
Meanwhile, Valpoi PI Rahul Naik and other senior officers were interrogating the accused, Nasir Hussain Jamadar, who was arrested in the case and is presently in custody. He has revealed some information and the police are investigating in that direction.
About 15 houses in the vicinity have sustained damages on account of the explosion which took place at about 7.50 on Monday. An estimate of the damages and losses is being prepared and a report will be submitted to the government, said the sources.
Earlier on Tuesday, a forensic team investigated and collected samples of various items at the site for further tests.
According to police sources, the accused has revealed some names, and these persons will be sent notices in the coming days and called for inquiry.
The police have already started inquiring about those persons who were associated with Nasir, who is the owner of many stone quarries in Sattari.
Incidentally, some of his stone quarries had been raided by the Mines department and machinery had been seized from these sites. Currently, these quarries have been shut.
