OLD GOA
It may be recalled that Abhishek Gaurav Yadav Prasad and Mohammad Azi impersonated Santosh Kumar from Bihar and Chirag Baban Rawat from Mumbai respectively at the NEET exam at Sunshine Worldwide School, Bainguinim.
Though the duo was successful in answering the exam without getting caught, their names cropped up only after two students caught impersonating at a similar NEET exam in Sancoale revealed the names of the two to the Verna police.
Old Goa police informed that the duo confessed that they had agreed to impersonate as they were promised money if they were able to get 50% marks in the exam.
“The duo was promised that they would be paid money only after getting at least 50% marks in the NEET exam,” the police added.
Both Prasad and Azi, charged for impersonation and cheating, were given a 3-day remand by the JMFC on Monday and are currently in the Ribandar police lockup. PSI Ramesh Shirodkar is conducting further investigations in the matter.
