Odisha native held for outraging modesty of girl

The Maina-Curtorim police late on Sunday arrested a native of Odisha for allegedly outraging the modesty of an 18-year-old girl from Sao Jose de Areal.

Maina Curtorim police station in charge PI Gurudas Kadam informed that the police action came following a complaint lodged by a member of the Sao Jose de Areal village panchayat on Sunday.

The accused Madhu Sudan Mahapatra had been staying in a rented premises belonging to the victim’s grandmother.

Police alleged that the accused took advantage of the state of mental health of the girl and was allegedly seen with the girl, teaching her to ride a two wheeler.

PI Kadam informed that the girl will be referred to the IPHB to ascertain her state of mental health before taking further action.The police is investigating.
