A joint site inspection at the MES college junction was conducted by the district road safety committee and NHAI officials on Wednesday.
Lorna Fernandes, secretary of GOACAN, stated that the inspection was directed by the Collector, aiming to address long-standing safety concerns at the junction.
Key issues include malfunctioning signals, the need for immediate changes before a flyover is constructed, wrong-way traffic, and the relocation of a bus stop. Encroachments and stray animals also need to be addressed by the Sancoale Panchayat.
Vasco traffic PI Shailesh Narvekar emphasised the need for road widening and special left turns for local residents, urging people to follow traffic rules to reduce accidents.
