Various government officials on Thursday conducted an inspection at the turtle nesting site in Morjim.
The visit follows from a high court directive to the State government to submit a report on the adverse impact on the Olive Ridley turtles at the turtle nesting sites, following media reports that efforts by the Olive Ridley turtles to lay eggs turtles were hampered due to loud music and night parties till dawn.
Acting on the directives, Pernem Deputy Collector Deepak Vaingankar, Pernem Police Inspector Dattaram Raut, forest officers, engineers, and excise officers conducted an inspection at the turtle nesting site in Temb Wada on Thursday.
After their inspection, Forest Officer Paresh Parab told the reporters that they would be submitting their report shortly.
