UP youth held for ganja worth Rsâ€‰2.5 lakh

The Pernem police seized ganja valued at Rs 2.5 lakh and arrested a youth from Uttar Pradesh, following a raid at the railway station near Malpe-Pernem.

Police said they received intimation about a person who was to go to Malpe to sell ganja and a team led by Pernem Police Inspector Uttam Raut waited at the railway station to nab the person.

When Brijesh Ramdev (21) arrived at the railway station, the police nabbed him and found him possessing 2.41 kilos of ganja valued at Rs 2.50 lakh.

The police team consisted of Harish Vaingankar, Vivek Halarnkar, Prajyot Mayekar, Krishna Vir, Premnath Sawal Desai, Sagar Khorjuvekar along with Uttam Raut.
