Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club and Socio Cultural Club of Loutolim played out a goalless draw in Group A of the Salcete Zone GFA 3rd Division League at Panchayat ground, Raia on Monday.

Both the teams started the match on a cautious note and as a result there were few thrills at either end and the play was restricted to midfield. As the match progressed, Socio Cultural Club of Loutolim had a chance to surge ahead when Dickson Alvares floated the ball dangerously inside the rival penalty box but Gloria goalkeeper came to his side's rescue by keeping the slate clean.
At the other end, Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club resorted to long balls but the rival defenders stood tall in protecting their citadel. Striker Velencio Fernandes waged a lone battle upfront as he was not getting adequate support from his colleagues. Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club came close in foisting the lead but Fredrick Tavares blew away a freekick from 25 yards. Only one notable goalscoring chance was there in the game when Loutolim's Dickson missed a penalty in the 48th minute.
Post resumption, Socio Cultural Club of Loutolim had a golden chance to surge ahead when Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club captain Mayvol Dias was brought down by Dickson inside the penalty box. The resultant spot kick taken by Sandeep Konde was saved by Gloria Sports Club goalkeeper.
The Loutolim team had a chance when Dickson beat the off side trap but the rival goalkeeper averted the danger by plucking the ball from under the rival player's feet. Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club must thanks their goalkeeper Jhonito Tavares as he effected superlative saves.
