Old age home will serve purpose only when needy are provided shelter: MP

Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shirpad Naik said the real motive behind constructing old age home will be fulfilled only when community members strive hard to provide shelter to aged and needy people from different walks of life.

He was speaking after inaugurating an old age home ‘Shri Sant Gadgebab Chatra Chaya’ at Radhanagar-Bordem, Bicholim on Sunday. The function was 
organised by Akhil Gomantak Maratha Rajak Samaj Goa (AGMRSG).   
Bicholim MLA Rajesh Patnekar, Belagavi Mayor Sanjyot Bandekar, Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) Chairperson Satish Gaonkar, land owner Uday Malgaonkar, Akhil Gomantak Maratha Rajak Samaj Goa president Vishnu Bandekar, secretary Prakash Khandeparkar, PWD assistant engineer Roads and Sanjay Vaze were present.   
Shripad Naik further said so far he has completed about 750 projects in Goa under MP LAAD scheme and his dream is to complete about 1,000 projects during his tenure.   
He lauded the landowner Malgaonkar for donating his land free of cost for the construction of this project to fulfill his grandfather’s assurance.   
Naik said MP fund of Rs 50 lakh will be provided for the construction of second phase of this project including the garden. He also assured to provide all the co-operation to such projects.   
MLA Patnekar said Bicholim taluka is witnessing speedy development for last many years through MPLAD scheme due to constant efforts of Ayush Minister Naik.   
He also lauded the efforts of Rajak community for putting united efforts for fulfilling their dream project which will provide shelter not only to community members but also to the needy aged-old people from different walks of life.   
BMC Chairperson Gaonkar said BMC has provided co-operation when it came to know that this project was bounded with social obligation.   
Belagavi Mayor Bandekar congratulated the AGMRSG members for making united efforts for constructing the old age home with the help of North Goa MP Naik.   
Vishnu Bandekar welcomed the gathering, Anand Khandeparkar compered the function, while Prakash Khandeparkar proposed the vote of thanks.
