Old recipes book released
PANAJI: The book ‘Livro da Cozinha Goesa - Tradicional’2 a edição was launched on October 30, on the death anniversary of Irma Philomena da Cotta Pinto de Almeida e João, as an ode to her memory.
The book was released by Fr Arnolf Mazarello (ex-professor of Rachol Seminary), Fr Jorge Pazzi Fernandes (Parish Priest, St Francis Xavier Church-Velim), Fr Nelson Colaço (Parish Priest, St Anthony Church, Veroda ) at Casa de Francisco Xavier João, Baga, Velim, Salcete.
The book contains uncommon recipes on traditional Goan food which is no longer served in the modern context and needs to be revived. The recipes included are for starters, vegetarian dishes, seafood, desserts, preserves & pickles, health drinks and others. The book has recipes used by the Catholic society and also Saraswat cuisine. The titles of the copies are in English , Portuguese and Konkani. The book is free and will be distributed to all the libraries in the State. It is also available online.
