MARGAO
Asserting that the State Tele Manas has played a big role in providing confidential mental health support 24x7 to people in distress since the centre was opened two years, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday has mulled expansion of the activities of the Teles Manas in Goa in a different manner.
Speaking as the Chief Guest at the World Mental Health Day programme held at the South Goa District Hospital, Margao on Friday, the Health Minister made an impassioned plea to people of all age groups to seek help of the Goa Tele Manas by sharing their problems and worries to the counsellors manning the centre.
In fact, the Health Minister gave a call to the citizens of Goa to join hands, by leaving their political and other differences, to help and protect the younger generation through awareness and guidance.
Rane also spoke about roping in additional counsellors to man the Tele Manas centres in view of the huge response the concept has evoked in the State of Goa.
“My humble plea to the people, especially the young minds to speak out their problems to the counsellors manning the Tele Manas. If you don’t speak out, you will get choked and move in a different direction. Life needs to be worshipped,” he added.
