Mapusa Police on Sunday arrested one person for outraging the modesty of a minor girl in full public view.
The accused has been identified as Majid Khan (20) a native of Rajasthan but presently residing in Bastora.
The incident took place late in the evening on Saturday near the erstwhile Alankar Theatre at Angod, Mapusa.
The father of the girl in his complaint informed that the unknown accused touched the minor girl inappropriately in the open public place and fled from the spot.
“Since there was no clue on the identity of the accused we constituted two teams under the leadership of PI Sitakant Nayak to track the case and identify the accused,” said Jivba Dalvi, Mapusa SDPO.
He said the police team gathered and analysed the CCTV footage available in the area.
The SDPO informed the team after thorough human and technical surveillance identified the accused and successfully arrested the accused at Calangute. Further investigation is on.
