Calangute Police arrested a 36-year-old person for committing theft by snatching away a wallet on Tuesday.
Acting on a complaint, Calangute police arrested the accused, Peter Xavier, a resident of Maddowado,
Calangute.
The complainant, Nihal Ali also of Maddowado, Calangute stated that a person had snatched his wallet containing cash of Rs 5,000.
Calangute police traced the accused and placed him under arrest under section 356 and 379 Indian Penal Code and lodged him in police lockup.
The stolen property was also recovered from the accused.
Police Sub Inspector Prajit Mandrekar is investigating further.
