One held for theft at Mapusa

MAPUSA: Mapusa Police arrested one person on charges of theft on Thursday.

Police arrested the accused, Sanyasi Jain, for allegedly lifting Rs 20,000 from Chandan Chopdekar’s house in Housing Board in Mapusa on the eve of Diwali.

According to police, the complainant, Chandan Chopdekar, had gone out with his friends on the eve of Diwali. When he returned, he found cash of Rs 20,000 missing and lodged a police complaint.

Mapusa Police managed to identify the accused based on the CCTV footage and is investigating the case.
