Patients at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) will soon be able to book outpatient department (OPD) appointments online.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced that the facility will be introduced next week for Medicine, Surgery, Skin, ENT and Orthopaedics departments.
The move is aimed at reducing long queues and cutting waiting time at the State’s largest hospital.
Officials said the system will allow patients to plan visits more efficiently and improve crowd management.
The initiative is being overseen by Joint Secretary (Health) Pranav Bhat to ensure smooth rollout. Technical teams have been tasked with monitoring the platform and addressing glitches during the initial phase.
Hospital authorities also said the online booking system will complement existing walk-in services. Patients who prefer traditional registration can continue to do so and the new system is expected to benefit those travelling from distant parts of the State by allowing them to secure appointments in advance.
