The office of the Salcete Sub-Registrar has opened a help desk as the office has started online registrations of sale deeds in the taluka.
While the response for the online registration has been described as encouraging, the office has opened a help desk for citizens, who come to the office for the manual registration of the sale deeds.
The help desk manned by two lady staffers offers assistance to citizens who approach the office for the land registration, not knowing that the office has already switched over to online registrations as per the government diktat.
Sub-Registrar Domingos Pereira told The Goan that the online registration of property deeds has evoked positive response as far as Salcete taluka is concerned. “Yesterday, the office received around 70 applications for online registration of the sale deeds. After going through the application, our staff either approves that the applications are on order or ask the applicant to submit the relevant documents,” he said.
On the help desk, Domingos pointed out that it has been opened in the office as a stop-gap arrangement to offer help and assistance for people coming to execute manual registration of the sale deeds. “This is a temporary measure. Till an awareness is created across the taluka that the Salcete Sub-Registrar no longer accepts hand delivered applications for executing sale deeds, the help desk will continue to offer support,” Domingos added.
