The Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) recently conducted an Orientation Course in Dramatics in Panaji that received an enthusiastic response from participants across age groups. Renowned stage and cinema artist Fermino Goes led the course, offering practical guidance on various aspects of acting.
The course was inaugurated by veteran tiatr artist Carmina Terezinha Barbosa in the presence of TAG Council Members, including William Fernandes, Apolonia Rebello, Pedro Vaz, Antonet De Souza, Arnaldo Costa, Joaquim Dias and others.
In her address, Barbosa encouraged youngsters to seize such learning opportunities. Reflecting on her own experience, she said, “Such courses were not available when I began acting. It was my father who gave me the first opportunity to perform, and I owe my artistic journey to him.” She stressed the importance of nurturing the next generation of tiatrists to keep the Konkani stage vibrant.
TAG President Anthony Barbosa reaffirmed the Academy’s commitment to promoting young talent and preserving the tiatr tradition.
Certificates were awarded to participants at the valedictory function. The proceedings were conducted by Arnaldo Costa and Apolonia Rebello.
