A Nepali woman, who was rescued from Molcornem village after she landed in the state by train, was on Friday repatriated to her native country by bus.
Bogoripo alias Lakshi, alias Ramakala Badali was rescued by One Stop Centre (OSC), South Goa and the Quepem Police and admitted at the One Stop Centre on September 17.
Women’s and child rights activist, Auda Viegas said the OSC, South Goa team tried their level best to contact organizations in Nepal and India. She said Grace Foundation in Nepal was very helpful and assisted the OSC to circulate the said woman's picture. To this, Sabika Thapa in Goa responded and got in touch with us, she added.
“After 13 days, Sabika along with Ananta Rawat, visited the One Stop Centre South Goa, at their request. After networking with Maiti Nepal and the Nepal Embassy, arrangements began to be made to repatriate the said woman to her home country Nepal”, she said.
