Former Chief Minister Churchill Alemao, along with his daughter Valanka, attended a free medical camp organised by the Churchill Alemao Charitable Trust in Navelim on Sunday. The camp was held in collaboration with KLE Hospital, Belagavi, at Rosary High School.
Though the event was non-political, observers see it as a sign of Valanka’s role ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Churchill has said he wants her to contest from Navelim. Churchill urged people to use the camp by getting health check-ups and consulting doctors. The camp saw over 1,700 registrations during the day. People received consultations in several specialties, including general medicine, cardiology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, ENT, ophthalmology and dermatology. Services included Pap smear tests, breast screenings and free spectacles for over 700 people.
Valanka thanked Rosary High School and KLE Hospital for their support and said they plan to organise another camp within six months.
