Against the backdrop of a personal criticism and the toolkit that sought his ouster, the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, in his New Year message, has said that it’s time to overcome all the hard feelings and enter 2025, with ‘unwavering faith’.
“It is time to look back and appreciate the memories of life. For all the hard feelings that we might have come across, let us open our hearts and let it go. The people should move forward in the New Year with the experiences they had in the past,” Sawant said in
the message.
In the infamous multi-crore jobs-for-cash scam, there has been a personal attack on Sawant and his wife Sulakshana through social media platforms. A toolkit campaign GoaCMResign was also launched, which the Chief Minister claimed was by his opponents.
Sawant’s wife Sulakshana has filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against AAP leader Sanjay Singh for allegedly naming her in the scam.
Speaking during Head On, on December 16, the Chief Minister had admitted that there is a malicious campaign launched targeting him through social media. He said that such a campaign involves huge money and only those having it can afford it like the Opposition.
While addressing the State on 63rd Liberation Day, he had even said that his government has been making tremendous progress by overcoming personal criticism, pre-conceived notions, and the “toolkit of jealousy.”
Meanwhile, while extending New Year wishes, the Chief Minister said that the State government has been working hard to implement various schemes for the effective welfare of the people. Keeping our determination higher, let us march towards “Swayampurna Goa” in the upcoming year with more strength, he said adding ‘New Year gives us hope to look forward to a bright future and explore new opportunities…it is an inspiration to achieve new goals’.
