Owner arrested after dog attack leads to child's death in Anjuna

Abdul Kader Khwaja, the owner of a Pitbull, has been arrested by Anjuna police for negligence under Section 106(1) BNS, following a tragic incident that led to the death of 7-year-old Prabhas Kalangutkar. The FIR against Khwaja alleges that his negligence resulted in the boy's death.


The horrific incident occurred on Thursday around 3.30 pm when the boy accompanied his mother to her workplace. While she was busy working as a domestic help, the family's Pit bull suddenly attacked the boy. The dog mauled Prabhas, inflicting severe bites on his cheek, neck, arms, and legs, causing substantial bleeding and injury.


Witnesses, including family members, acted quickly to get Prabhas to North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa. Due to the critical nature of his injuries, he was transferred to GMC in Bambolim. Despite medical efforts, Prabhas succumbed to his injuries.
