BJP’s South Goa candidate Pallavi Dempo kicked-off he campaign in Canacona taluka on Wednesday with three meetings with the karyakartas.
Accompanied by BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Tanavade and in the presence of Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, Dempo first proceeded to the Shri Mallikarjun Temple at Shristhal and sought the blessings of the Lord Mallikarjun.
While Dempo did not respond to media queries, Tawadkar and Tanavade informed media persons outside the temple premises that Dempo’s visit to the constituency was purely to interact with the karyakartas and party functionaries.
BJP leaders Narendra Sawaikar and Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar also joined Dempo at her first meeting in the Shristhal panchayat hall, where she addressed BJP Karyakarta of Agonda, Shristhal and Canacona Municipality.
In her brief speech, Dempo made references to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his schemes and the PM’s concern for women of the country.
Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar said Canaconcars are ready for the polls and irrespective of candidate, he has assured BJP a lead of over 10,000 votes in Canacona constituency.
“We are going to meet 900-1000 karyakartas today in the three karyakarta meetings, and we have complete faith in BJP leadership and Narendra Modi as our country is safe in his hands to make a Vikshit Bharat by 2047,” said Tawadkar.
“No vote bank politics will succeed in Canacona and no one can dare to disturb or divide Canacona BJP.”
NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar and BJP Vice-President Chandrakant Kavlekar also appealed to karyakartas to work for the success of Dempo.
Shristhal Sarpanch Sejal Gaonkar, CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar, BJP General Secretary Sarvanand Bhagat also spoke, while Agonda Sarpanch Preettal Fernandes, ZP (Khola) Shanu Velip and South Zilla Panchayat Chairperson Suvarna Tendulkar were present.
Dempo interacted with Karyakarta’s at Khotigao, before offering prayers at Shree Parashuram Devasthan, Poinguinim and had a concluding meeting with Karyakarta at Shree Saunsthan Nirakar Hall, Mashem later in the evening.
